[SOLVED] Wild Rift unable to login with an account from this region

Running into “unable to login with an account from this region” error when you try to login Wild Rift? Don’t worry! This is a common issue. Although it’s quite frustrating, the good news is you can fix it on your own quickly and easily!

Possible causes of this issue

The login error message “unable to login with an account from this region” suggested that your account is currently not accepted to login. If your region is not available for the regional open beta now, you would receive such a login error message when you try to login.

According to the game updates on 10-16-2020 from the official site of Wild Rift, from October 27 (PT), Wild Rift is available to the players on both iOS and Android platforms in:

Japan
Indonesia
Philippines
Malaysia
Singapore
Brunei
Cambodia
Laos
Myanmar
Timor-Leste

In early December (subject to change), Riot is aiming to start service in the following locations:

Europe
Middle East
North Africa
Oceania
Russia
Taiwan
Turkey
Vietnam

In Spring 2021, Riot’re planning to start service in the Americas. All other regions will come later.

If you are not in the open beta regions above, or if you are in the open beta region but Riot hasn’t started service yet, you will run into the the login issues like “unable to login with an account from this region”.

Are you wondering why Riot konws that you’re not from the open beta test regions? The mechanism is quite simple: when you try to login to Wild Rift, Riot game server can detect the IP address of your device. According to your IP address, Riot game server can tell if the IP address is from the open beta test regions. If your IP address is from the open beta test regions, Riot would not grant you access.

After we know the mechanism behind it, to fix this issue becomes quite easy. As long as you change your IP address to the one that appears to be from the Wild Rift OBT regions, the Riot game servers would accept your login request.
