How to take a screenshot on iPhone X – Quickly & Easily

This post shows you how to screenshot on iPhone X and later with different methods.

For iPhone 8 and earlier, you can press and hold the Top/Side button then press the Home button to take a screenshot. In iPhone X or later, Apple has removed the Home button, so it’s impossible to take a screenshot on iPhone X using the same method. But don’t worry. This post will show you how to take a screenshot on iPhone X and later step by step.

Method 1: Take a screenshot on iPhone X with the Side button and Volume Up button

1) Open the screen that you want to take a screenshot on your iPhone X.

2) Press and hold the Side button on the right side on your iPhone X, then press the Volume Up button on the left, then release these buttons.

3) iPhone X will take a screenshot and you’ll see the thumbnail at the bottom left corner of your screen.

4) Tap the thumbnail to edit your screenshot and then tap Done to save your screenshot. Or you can swipe left on the thumbnail to dismiss and save it.

Method 2: Take a screenshot on iPhone X via AssistiveTouch custom action

Since iPhone X has removed the Home button, the AssistiveTouch has become more important. In AssistiveTouch settings you can set how to take a screenshot on iPhone X using the AssistiveTouch.

To do so, follow these steps:

1) Open the Settings app in your iPhone X.

2) Go to General > Accessibility.

3) Tap AssistiveTouch and toggle the button next to AssistiveTouch to turn it on.

4) On the same screen under the Custom Actions, select an action and set it for Screenshot. In my case I choose 3D Touch and set it as a quick action for Screenshot.

5) After setting up, you can take a screenshot with the action you set (In my case I can take a screenshot by using the 3D Touch on the AssistiveTouch).

6) iPhone X will take a screenshot and you’ll see the thumbnail at the bottom left corner of your screen.

7) Tap the thumbnail to edit your screenshot and save. Or you can swipe left on the thumbnail to dismiss and save it.

Method 3: Take a screenshot on iPhone X via the AssistiveTouch

You can enable AssistiveTouch in your iPhone X using the AssistiveTouch. First of all you should turn on AssistiveTouch in your iPhone X.

Here’s what you need to do:

1) Open the Settings app in your iPhone X.

2) Go to General > Accessibility.

3) Tap AssistiveTouch and toggle the button next to AssistiveTouch to turn it on.

4) After turning on AssistiveTouch, tap the AssistiveTouch on your iPhone screen, and tap Device.

5) Tap More and tap Screenshot.

6) iPhone X will take a screenshot and you’ll see the thumbnail at the bottom left corner of your screen.

7) Tap the thumbnail to edit your screenshot and save. Or you can swipe left on the thumbnail to dismiss and save it.
