[FIXED] How To Fix Airpods Won’t Connect Issue
If your AirPods won’t connect, no matter you’re connecting with iOS, Andriod or PC, this post will help. Read on to find how.
Only one AirPods working
1. Put AirPods in your charging case
To solve the one AirPods not working issue, you can put both AirPods back to the charging case and make sure they’re charging. It’s possible one AirPod is power off.
2. Adjust stereo balance
When you accidentally moving the stereo balance slider, one of your AirPods won’t work normally. Unless you disable the option, any Apple devices allow you to shift sound all the way to the left/right AirPods. For example, when you shift sound to the left, your right AirPod is not working. Don’t worry, it’s easy to solve.
- Access Settings > Accessibility.
- Go to Hearing > Audio/Visual and check the stereo balance slider which should be in the middle of L and R.
- Adjust the slider if necessary.
- Lastly, set Mono Audio to Off to ensure both AirPods play the same content.

2. Connect AirPods manually
For iPhone
- Open Control Center and make sure your Bluetooth is on.
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth.
If your AirPods are connected, make sure they’re selected as your audio device.
If your AirPods are not connected, put them in the charging case and make sure that both AirPods are charging. Then move to the next step. - Close the lid of the charging case and wait for 15 seconds. Open the lid, press and hold the setup button on the case for at least 10 seconds. The status light should flash white which means the AirPods are ready to connect.
- Place the charging case near with AirPods inside near your iOS device.
- Follow the steps on your iOS device’s screen.
- Check the AirPods are connected or not.
For Mac
- Click the Apple menu button and choose System Preferences.
- Click Bluetooth.
A. If your AirPods appear in the list but don’t connect, move to Step 3.
B. If your AirPods don’t appear in Bluetooth preferences, reset your AirPods with your Mac. - Select your AirPods in the list and click the X to the right of your AirPods.
- Place both AirPods in the charging case.
- Open the lid of your charging case near your Mac.
- In the device list, select your Airpods and click Connect.
- Your AirPods should be connected with your Mac.
For Apple Watch
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your Apple Watch.
- Tap the “i” icon next to your AirPods.
- Tap Forget This Device, then confirm.
- Place both AirPods in your charging case. Close the lid, wait 30 seconds, then open it.
- Press and hold the setup button for a few seconds, until you see the status light flashing white.
- Reconnect your AirPods by placing them close to your device and opening the lid.
- Follow the instructions on your device’s screen.
- Check both AirPods.
Rebooting your Apple Watch is another choice, but it won’t last long.
For non-Apple devices
- Go to the Settings for Bluetooth, make sure that Bluetooth is on.
- Put your AirPods in the charging case with the open lid.
- Press and hold the setup button up to 10 seconds, until you see the status light flash white.
- Your AirPods should appear in the Bluetooth list, select them and click connect.
3. Reset your AirPods
Resetting AirPods is a kind of final solution. It can solve most of the connecting issues, no matter you’re connecting with Apple devices or non-Apple devices.
- Forget AirPods on your device, no matter it’s an iOS device or a non-Apple device.
- Place both AirPods in your charging case. Close the lid, wait 30 seconds, then open it.
- Press and hold the setup button for a few seconds, until you see the status light flashing white.
- Reconnect your AirPods by placing them close to your device and opening the lid.
- Follow the instructions on your device’s screen.
- Check both AirPods.
If you want to pair AirPods with your PC and it won’t work recently, you can try to delete Microsoft Edge on your PC. Some users found the updated Edges was the problem. After deleting the program, everything back to normal. Restarting your PC is also a solution, but it won’t last long.
