Is there a DirecTV package for seniors in 2022?

At the moment, DirecTV doesn’t have official discounts for seniors. But you can give a call to the local sales or check if there’re latest promotions online.

With that said, DirecTV may not be your best option if your budget is below $50 and only need some popular channels to stay in the loop. There are more affordable alternatives like Philo ($25/mo & 7-day free) and Sling TV ($35/mo) you can consider.

Cheaper alternatives to DirecTV Stream

If you decide to cut the cord, there’s a whole bunch of providers you can choose. And if you’re having second thoughts about DirecTV, you can take a look at the cheaper alternatives below.

1. Philo (60+ channels, 60,000 on-demands & 7 day free)

Philo is a promising up and comer in streaming services. With 1/3 the price of DirecTV ($25/mo), you get more than 60 channels ranging from MTV, AMC, Discovery to Paramount. Not to mention 60,000 on-demand titles including big hits like The Office, Yellowstone and Better Call Saul. If you’re not so much a binge watcher and don’t need too many news channels, you can take advantage of the 7-day Philo free trial to compare with DirecTV.

2. Sling TV (Sports, News, $35/mo)

If you’re a sports fan and need a few more news channels, take a look at Sling TV. At $35 a month, you can choose to have 31 sports channels (ESPN) or 41 entertainment and news channels (Discovery, Fox, FX, NFL Network). Sling TV has more diverse add-ons than Philo, and you get a 50% discount for the first month.
